Title: ABC & XYZ of Bee Culture on sale this summer $29.95
Post by: JPinMO on June 14, 2013, 12:47:14 am: The June edition of Bee Culture advertises a summer special on the 41st edition of ABC/XYZ -- $29.95 postpaid (the Bee Culture website still lists it at $49; the cheapest I have found is Amazon, $41).

Does anyone else wonder if they're trying to clear out some stock before a newer edition comes out? Or am I just a bit too cynical in thinking that as soon as I invest (even taking advantage of a very good sale price), they'll come out with an updated version?

I do realize the 41st ed was published in 2007, but I understand that there is no information on CCD in this edition.

Then again, they may hold off on adding any info about CCD until a definite cause is determined, which might be when :flyingpig:

I would not suspect a new addition????? But never know especially if it is easy to update and print. As far as CCD what is there to tell....... who knows....just speculation.

But when I have a real question on how too with bee........ I go to bushfarms.com :-D

When you click the ad for the summer special (pdf), it shows a price of $59.99! :shock: Other than the price, the ad is the exact same thing that is published in the magazine. The address and phone number are listed; mail a check, or call with your credit card.

Michael Bush's book is on my "wish list" as well; I like having an actual book in my hands to highlight/underline, make notes in, etc.

I use the older ones, but the new addition is crap. Not worth
the $60 I paid or their new $29.95 discount price. They must
have a truckload on hand, when I solicited door prizes for the
Central Texas Beekeepers Spring Bee School, they sent me 6
copies.

bees in 1959 so some of them are familiar to me. The
new one has to much emphasis on pioneers in beekeeping
and not enough on mechanics. They dropped a lot of
informative topics.

found the answere in it, but the latest doesn't seem to live
up to the old ones. They did keep the same info, but update
and add to it year after year, but for some reason now it seems
like different stuff entirely. Between that and "The Hive and the
Honeybee" I always could look just about everything up.
