This is my first year as a beekeeper and my first swarm removal. It took me two days but I finally got the queen. A special thanks to J.P., Schawee, Scott and Peggy, for all of the videos you guys have posted on YouTube. Your videos gave me the confidence to give this a try. Thanks, David.

Good video. You can hear the queen piping when she was attached to the frame. I would have left them in one box, not 2 because of the beetles until they needed more room. Good catch.

I liked that one! I hate it when I'm not sure where the queen is...good job on finding her!

Thanks for the replies, guys. I still have a softball size ball of bees in the tree. Every time I shake them, they go straight back to the tree. What should I do?

They are still orienting to the pheromones that are left behind. Either spray the branch with bee quick/go or just cut that branch off and shake the bees straight into the hive.
