New Beekeeper in New Jersey
« on: May 19, 2011, 04:02:18 pm »
Hi there everyone!  I am a new beekeeper, having received two packages of bees just one month ago.  Had a week of warm, sunny weather and the hives were going gangbusters - now all my little bee buddies are clustered and cold in all this rain.  But I shall press on and keep planting more flowers and boiling up that sugar syrup.

Welcome to the forum.  FYI flowers are pretty but unless your planting 100 acers of them, not much use to the bees.  Also I dont heat my water for syrup.  I just use a gallon milk jug put 5 lbs of sugar in it and fill to about 3 inchs from top of hot tap water and shake the hell out of it with some honeyb healthy.
