Supersedure Cell
« on: July 08, 2012, 04:36:39 pm »
I just did a hive inspection and found what looks to me like a supersedure cell.  They built supersedure cells a couple weeks ago also.  I spotted the queen and she seems to be very active.  There are 5 full frames of brood in various stages along with eggs. I’ve removed the cells after going through the frames and making sure everything looked ok.  In the future, should I leave the cell …remove it …keep an eye on it?  What's the best thing to do?

I had a picture but I guess I'm to new to bee posting images.  Oh well ...bummer  :-\

I would leave it.   Bees know what they are doing.   Some people freak out at seeing a cup or two hanging.  I don't worry about seeing one.   Now if I had several on several frames, I make a split with them.

And you can send a pic to one of the administrators.  They can post for you.
