Last spring I had a swarm lay over on a pine tree limb on my property so I built a KTBH. But they left before I was ready. Then a month ago i captured a swarm at the cemetery where I work and was able to put them in my hive. All seemed to be going well for two weeks until we got hit with some very high winds and my hive was blown over. The hive was a mess but the bees where inside so I put it all back together and took measures to withstand wind.The bees left the next day.
Not to be discouraged I decided to build a smaller KTBH and maybe find a Ferrell hive to give a new home. While I was waiting to hear about a hive I put it out as bait hive and said a little prayer. This was two weeks ago. Then last Saturday when I was planning to put a few more drops of lemon grass oil on the cotton inside I was surprised to see that God had blessed me with bees.
I'm new to this beek thing and have been doing a lot of research. But I'm happy to meet this new challenge.
