Apiguard ?
« on: May 01, 2014, 08:24:17 am »
Does anyone have experience with Apiguard?  I used mags last year, but I prefer to treat in late august or early sept. and sometimes it is too warm here. Thinking of using apiguard, but know little about it. Are they any negative side effects? Thanks

I used it a when I found a lot of mites in August.  It killed the mites and not the bees and the bees wintered well.  I have the rest of the tub and hope it keeps.

it's what i use when i need to use something.  be aware that it is temp dependent and you need to do it for 4 weeks.  where i live, i pull honey early to mid September and then treat if i'm going to.  check the instructions and plan treatments accordingly.
Someone really ought to tell them that the world of Ayn Rand?s novel was not meant to be aspirational.

Yes, I like to treat with it right after we pull supers first of June. It is way too hot to use Maqs that time of year but, I have found Apigaurd to work very well during that time.
