The hives smell quite strongly of butterscotch lately. Is it the goldenrod?

Smell is quite subjective. I think goldenrod smells like old gym socks.

It always smells that way here in late summer and early fall for some reason. I always assumed it was a combination of generally drier weather and the nectar sources, usually wild aster, goldenrod, etc
