Hi everyone...

I'm brand new to this forum as of a few minutes ago.  My father has been keeping bees in upstate NY for a number of years now, and I'm finally going to get into it with him.  I've been away with the military, but am heading back North in a few months, and can't wait to learn all I can about beekeeping.  He just loves it.

I joined because I'm excited about this, and would like to learn some of the basics now.  I'd love to find a local beekeeper that I can learn from, but would be content to keep learning from all of the informative posts I've seen on the forum.

Jared,

First, let me tell ya thanks for serving. My family sleeps safe at night
because of your sacrifice and we appreciate what you have done.

Second, spend as much time with your Dad as you can cause those "moments" will last you forever :)

I too, was given an opertunity to spend lots of time with my Dad
when I became a grown man :D

I took full advantage of it and today wouldn't  trade those memories for anything in this world 8)

I am not far from you either. Up just over the line in South Carolina. Between Anderson and Clemson.
