Not all Honey's Are Created Equal-Photo
« on: May 05, 2013, 07:58:45 pm »
I found this bottle of "Honey" at a local Grocery Store.  Ing: Corn Syrup & Honey.  I guess this kind of "Honey" is out there.  Has anyone run into similar?

Here is the front picture, but really do you have to see the front label?  It's just sad that Corn Syrup is in everything we consume.  Should not be called honey when blended with other ingredients.

I would like to see a picture of the front label also before I make a comment.

I notice that it says "Product of India"--which to me suggests honey 'laundered' from China.  Pitiful.
If you go to Global Brands LLC's website they say, "Global Brands, a Dollar Only Wholesale company, is committed to creating and supplying extreme value food products for $1.00 retail with a firm commitment to quality and customer service. "  I guess that's what you get for a buck.

I have actually seen something labeled "Honey Syrup" on the grocery shelf, which contained corn syrup and honey.  At least they were honest enough to label it as such.

If where you buy your honey it's packaged between poptarts and energy drinks, what do you expect?

Yeah, I know great shelf placement...ha ha.  I guess there are a lot of people who really don't care that its not 100% pure.  It's sad to see really. What a way to make a buck at the expense of the honey buyer and integrity of the industry.

The little "honey" packets that you get from KFC is actually labeled Honey Sauce.  I forget what all is in it :idunno:

This is what is on the table at the Mexican joint where we eat occasionally. Honey flavored corn syrup.

That's why I started beekeeping. I bought a honey bear that was a corn syrup blend. If you can't trust a honey bear you just have to do it yourself.

IMO this company is fine...it is labeling its product and saying exactly what it is, and says it is a blend. What most people do not know is a lot of the honey they get is really fake honey, treated and processed to appear to be honey but it is not. truth is it is very hard to even tell the difference sometimes without actually looking with a microscope.
