Branding Iron
« on: April 03, 2013, 06:55:33 pm »
I found a good deal on a branding iron @ http://www.branding-irons.biz/
He's making me one with the State of Fl ID # for $55 plus shipping. $70 all together. He said he makes quite a few for FL beekeepers.
I haven't found them this reasonable anywhere else.

Hello RC,
Our club just ordered a bunch of them together to save on shipping. I think it was them because it was the same price. I didn't order one so I' not sure it was them.

Thanks for the heads up. I was wondering how to do one on the cheap. I can't make one for that cheap

Here's another source if you're looking. I've no experience with him, but some others have good things to say about his irons and beekeeping equipment. Pretty reasonable, don't know about shipping, another source non the less:

Bailey, I agree. I have access to a 5 axis cnc machine and I still can't make one that cheap.

Here's a post I made regarding the branding iron used on the boxes with some details about it...

That branding iron from the guy down in Tampa looks pretty good!

Morning, Ed. I have a iron that I had made at a welding shop and it's just too big.It takes a WWII flame thrower to heat it up.
These irons do look good on the website. When I get it, I'll post a picture.
