I am in the Salt Lake City Utah Area.  Getting my boxes built painted and area cleared.  Starting my first year next spring.  Excited.

Welcome to the forum, great job on planning ahead of time.
Try to build a few extra boxes for any swarm calls next spring too.

Welcome! That is incredibly exciting. Just get ready for it to take over your life (in a good way).

Welcome to BeeMaster. Just as important as having the right equipment is having the right info. Besides Beemaster, I recommend "The Practical Beekeeper" By Michael Bush. Great book for new bees and old bees, especially if you want to do it chemical free.
Beekeeping for Dummies was pretty good for a start. Good info for building equipment but beware, some dimensions are off but can tell if you look closely.
