A high school friend's mom was gracious enough to let me use her property for my first apiary. I've got a decent little corner!
If anyone has any critiques, please let me know so I can change things before installing on Sunday!

My little corner. I raked out most of the leaves and cut down some small undergrowth.

There were a bunch of patio paver stones that were available for use, so I used them to my advantage!

Next step was using bricks to make my "hive stands"

Looks good.

Nice set up,just remember to make checks in the brick pockets to ensure there are no pests living there.....Good luck ;)
-
That looks great!! What a good looking location too.
-
Looks perfect, glad you found a spot. Have lotsa fun with your bees!

Too funny I did the same exact thing.. I just didnt document it. I will be going out soon to plant some more bee friendly plants nearby and I will be sure to shoot it up.. thanks for the motivation. and Good LUCK..

Nice job. ;) I hope you had something besides the car to haul all of those pave stones.
-
Sparky, actually this place already had them there. Looked like they've sat there for years. Same thing with the bricks. I've got plenty more as I expand!
And no...I only have the car haha.

Looks great, but did you remember to put landscape fabric under the pavers? It keeps the grass from popping up between the pavers. It's not necessary, and the bees don't care, but I find it helps keep things a little neater in the ol' apiary.
-
The only downside to this set up is that my hives are facing west. I've got kind of a horseshoe shape of trees surrounding the hive, with the only clear view being to the west. I hope that's not going to be a problem.

Hives facing west won't be a problem. Any direction ok, even north if you have a wind break. Looks like privet in the background?

Your site looks great!
I LOVE seeing brand new shiny white bee hives!
Looks like you have enough room to expand too after awhile!( 2 months...cuz you'll be getting calls to catch up bees from trees in a couple of weeks I bet...That always happens once people know you have bees!)
your friend,
