Observation Hive
« on: April 15, 2006, 09:06:29 am »
A nearby nature center asked me to find them an obervation hive.  They want a large one similar to the ones I found here:

http://www.tianca.com/tianca27.html

I am willing to drive most anywhere in New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Connecticut, or Massachusettes to pick one up, if it cannot be shipped.

Any leads, folks, on a good craftsman, or product?

I have never done one of these before and would not mind pointers on installing the bees and maintaining the hive once up.  I hear that they swarm often.

Much obliged!

Hello Ted!  This time I am looking to buy.  There is not much time left before the kick off of the season, and I don't think I want my first try at an observation hive to be one at a nature center that has lots of cubscouts around it!  (Not only that- the nature center is paying for it.)
