We have had pretty dry weather up until this week, when it rained non stop for 24 hours, got about 3 inches, it was great. I think the dry weather knocks the honey a bit, but its not really down a lot.
My biggest worry has been the extreme heat, we had over 46 degrees which is 115 F - when I was a kid, they sent you home from school when it got to 100. The bees stopped flying, except for water, they bearded outside heavily, and there were more deaths. They were all at the entrance fanning like helicopters. It was so hot that the dog just lay in his pool to cool off, for about an hour, and we saved our lives with Coopers Pale Ale(none for the dog, of course, he only likes Guinness). The bees seemed to recover alright, but we haven't opened them up to see if any damage, especially to brood.
