Fred Davies Web Page
Fred is a big WWF Fan and especially he really
enjoys Stone Cold Steve Austin
3:16. Rarely does Fred miss WWF Raw and Smack-down and occasionally
he gets to see a Pay-Per-View, but on December 12th, 2000 - Fred, Beemaster and Jay Horn went to WWF New York and the Intrepid Museum. Here is the
story and the photos.
We drove roughly an hour and a half
in unbelievable 60 mile an hour wind gusts that blew us all over the Garden
State Parkway and the New Jersey Turnpike. It was more like flying a plane
than driving a car in those winds.
The three of us parked in Port Authority
on the 7th level roof parking lot. We walked from there to WWF only 3 short
blocks away. Times Square was awesome, hugh 20 story tall video screens taking
up the entire sides of buildings and giant skyscrapers everywhere. The sounds
of Manhattan filled our ears. The people were everywhere, traffic was fighting
for every square inch of 42nd st and without exception construction was going
on everywhere.
We took lots of photos and stood there
pointing at the pole where the ball drops on New Years Eve. Looking around,
we were amazed at how small Times Square really is and it seemed impossible
that over a million people could squeeze in there.
We went into WWF New York Gift Store
and looked around waiting for the restaurant to open at 11:45am for Lunch.
Suprizingly it wasn't crowded at all in there. Of course no wrestlers were
on hand, but just a few nights before Tazz, Stone Cold, the Rock and Shawn
Michaels, the HeartBreak Kid all appeared on the stage. Just check out this link for
all the great food they have there at the restaurant. Here
also is a review
of WWF New York from mapquest. But it's safe to say that "IF" you
are a WWF Fan, you will want to visit this unique theme restaurant and gift
shop with it's 30 foot screens, steel cages, broken tables and smashed chairs.
Also, keep your eyes out for the Chyna look-a-like who waitresses there.
We guarantee you will have a wonderful time.
We got to place our hands over tracings
of Andre the Giant and the Big Show hands. You can not imagine how massive
their hands are. Our hands looked like baby hands compared to their massive
hands. Fred was able to put his hand thru a section of steel-cage and touch
the Dudley Boys autographed TLC 2000 ( Tables, Ladders and Chair ) display.
A section of broken table and a steel chair that was smashed over the heads
of either the Hardy Boys, Dudleys or Edge and Christian in one of wrestling's
toughest matches ever.
